VSM1.5 Shim Profile
This shim profile is usually used to lift up a stair nose to accommodate thicker flooring. A floor shim is a small, wedge-shaped device used in construction and carpentry to level or stabilize uneven surfaces beneath flooring materials. Typically made from MDF or plastic (or metal) floor shims are inserted between the subfloor and the flooring material, such as hardwood, tile or laminate, to correct irregularities in height or eliminate gaps. They are crucial for achieving a flat and smooth floor surface, preventing squeaks and ensuring proper weight distribution. Floor shims are indispensable during installation to counteract sagging or uneven subfloors, ensuring the longevity and functionality of the flooring. These unassuming tools play a vital role in achieving a polished and stable underfoot environment.
